# Sign in to the staff portal

> Sign in to your church's staff portal and find your way around.

## Before you begin

Ask your church administrator for the portal address and the email address connected to your account.

## Sign in

    Use the portal address shared by your church.

  <Step title="Enter your email">
    On the sign-in page, enter your email address. Select **Send code**, then check your inbox and enter the code. If you prefer, select **Sign in with a password instead**. A Google sign-in option appears when it is available for your church.

  <Step title="Open a section">
    After signing in, use the left menu to open an area such as **Departments**, **Members**, **Events**, or **Rota**. The sections shown depend on your access. See [web portal modules](/portal/modules) for a guide to each area.

## If you cannot sign in

* Check that you used the email address your church has on file.
* If you do not have an account, select **Request access** on the sign-in page and follow the instructions.
* If a page or action is missing after you sign in, ask your church administrator to check your access.
