The AI integration lets your church connect its own OpenAI-compatible provider for Faithloft drafting features. Without a connected provider, features that use AI fall back to built-in templates.

Before you start

You need permission to view and configure AI settings, plus an account and API key from an OpenAI-compatible provider. Get the key and endpoint from the provider. Do not include a real key in documentation or share it in messages. If you only have read-only access, contact your church administrator.

Connect and test a provider

  1. Open Settings > Integrations > AI.
  2. Under Connection, enter an optional Display name, the provider’s Model, Base URL, and API key.
  3. To configure image generation, fill in Image model (optional) and Image endpoint override (optional) when your provider requires them. Image generation uses the same API key.
  4. Select Connect provider. For an existing connection, select Save changes.
  5. Select Test connection and review the result. If it fails, check the base URL, model, and key with your provider, then save and test again.
  6. Confirm that the provider shows Active. Use its on/off control to pause or enable it.
The saved key is masked in Faithloft. When replacing an existing key, enter the new key in API key; leave it blank to keep the stored key.

Remove the provider

Select Remove, confirm the removal, and Faithloft deletes the stored API key. AI drafting then falls back to built-in templates until another provider is connected. For the other church connections, see Integrations.
