Use Payments to connect ways for your church to accept donations. Active methods can appear at checkout. The default method receives donations when a feature does not select a provider itself.

Before you start

You need payment configuration access and an account with the payment provider. Get any required provider credentials and webhook details directly from that account. Never add secret values to help articles or share them in messages. If the payment page is unavailable or read-only, contact your church administrator. The Payments page may list Stripe, PayPal, Paystack, Flutterwave, M-Pesa, Interac e-Transfer (manual), and in-app purchases through App Store or Google Play. Availability, currency, and one-time or recurring support vary by method. Interac Business Request Money requires provider onboarding; use Request access if it is offered. The form shows the fields for the method you choose. For example, Stripe asks for a secret key and webhook signing secret; PayPal asks for a client ID, client secret, webhook ID, and subscription plan ID; Paystack and Flutterwave use a secret key, with Flutterwave also asking for a webhook signing secret. M-Pesa uses Daraja credentials, a transaction type, and a public callback URL. Manual Interac e-Transfer uses a receiving email address and donor instructions. The form validates currency requirements such as KES for M-Pesa, CAD for manual Interac e-Transfer, and USD or KES for in-app purchases.

Connect a provider

  1. Open Settings > Integrations > Payments.
  2. Choose Cards or Table to find a method. Select Connect for a method you have not set up, or Manage for an existing connection.
  3. Enter a Display name, choose the Donation currency, and select an Environment if the form offers one. Use a test or sandbox environment for test credentials and live mode only with the provider’s live credentials.
  4. Complete the provider-specific fields shown in the form. For a hosted payment provider, this may include provider credentials or a Webhook signing secret. M-Pesa uses Daraja details and a public callback URL. Manual Interac e-Transfer uses a receiving email address and donor instructions instead of gateway credentials.
  5. If the form offers Use as the default donation method, select it only if this should receive donations when no other provider is chosen.
  6. Select Connect provider. For an existing method, select Save changes.
After saving a hosted provider, Faithloft may show a webhook endpoint. Add that endpoint in the provider dashboard so payment updates can return to Faithloft. Follow the provider’s own setup instructions for any required event selection. Manual Interac transfers have no automatic callback: staff confirm the transfer and mark it paid in the Giving area.

Choose or pause the default method

The top card shows Default for donations. To change it, select Make default on an active connected method, or open Manage and select Use as the default donation method before saving. To temporarily hide a method from checkout, open Manage and select Disable. Its settings are kept. Select Enable to show it at checkout again. A method can be connected without being active, and an active method is not necessarily the default. If a method is not available at checkout, review its status, environment, currency, and default setting. For payment status updates, confirm that the provider dashboard has the webhook endpoint shown by Faithloft. If the connection still needs attention, contact your administrator or the provider.
