Faithloft sends WhatsApp messages from your church’s WhatsApp Business number using an approved message template. Messages go only to members who opted in.

Before you start

You need WhatsApp configuration access and the church’s WhatsApp Business API setup in Meta Business Manager. Have the Phone number ID, WhatsApp business account ID, approved Template name and Template language, and a permanent system-user Access token with messaging permission. The approved template must have two body variables. If these details are not available, contact your church administrator or the person who manages the church’s Meta account. Do not paste a real access token into documentation, email, or chat. Enter it only in the password field on the Faithloft settings page.

Connect and verify

  1. Open Settings > Integrations > WhatsApp.
  2. Under Business account, enter the Phone number ID and WhatsApp business account ID from Meta’s WhatsApp API setup.
  3. Under Message template, enter the approved Template name and Template language exactly as registered in Meta.
  4. Under Access token, enter the system-user token.
  5. Select Connect WhatsApp. For an existing connection, select Save changes.
  6. Select Test connection. Continue only when Faithloft reports Connection succeeded.
  7. Turn WhatsApp on with the status control. The status should show WhatsApp is connected.
Changing the token, phone number, business account, or template turns WhatsApp off until you test the connection and enable it again. If the status says the connection needs to be reconnected, enter a valid token, save, and run Test connection again.

Disconnect WhatsApp

Choose Disconnect and confirm. Faithloft deletes the stored access token and stops WhatsApp messages, including messages already queued. Members’ opt-ins are kept and apply again if you reconnect. Once connected, you can select WhatsApp in Messages. Only members with WhatsApp consent can be reached. For other integrations, see Integrations.
